Inner Circle Personal & Professional Development - Self-Assessment Issue. 1

by Budtenders Association |

If your life were a book, and you were the author, how would the story go?

The intention behind creating this personal and professional segment within Inner Circle is to support you on your personal and professional journey using transformational tools to continue discovering self. The suggested exercises and techniques below are a guide for anyone looking to grow and expand their careers in cannabis.

Everyone’s journey is unique (which means the pace at which your life evolves or the learnings and opportunities that present themselves to you will all happen at different times) and that’s the beauty of it - you may have heard this before:

Success is a journey, not a destination. Without a clear purpose in life, you may find yourself caught in perpetual cycles or in Jim Rohn's words, “if you don’t design for your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else's... And guess what they have planned for you? Not Much.”

Defining Purpose

A personal purpose statement simplifies your direction – your goals will either align with your purpose or not, and goals without a purpose are like arrows without a target.

“Your life purpose is one unifying theme or idea that exemplifies your key goals in life. It's the specific way in which you engage with life that makes use of all that you are and draws on your unique experiences, talents, abilities, and interests in a way that helps you achieve your highest goals while being of service to others.” (Kathy Caprino)

Before setting goals, many people find it really helpful to learn more about their own behaviour, tendencies, strengths, weaknesses and values.

Learning more about YOU

One of the world's most widely used psychological and self-assessment instruments which we highly recommend everyone to do at least once but encourage repeating yearly is The Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator - designed to identify a person's personality type, and preferences.
